Hello {{FIRST_NAME}},
Version 14.0.0 of Google Docs brings the extension to TYPO3 12.4, 13.4 and 14, and lets editors import a Doc straight from the Page module. It is a major update that drops support for TYPO3 11 and older, so check the steps below before you update.
|
|
Before you update
| 1 | Check your TYPO3 and PHP versions. Version 14.0.0 runs on TYPO3 12.4 to 14 with PHP 8.1 to 8.5. On TYPO3 11 or older, upgrade TYPO3 first and keep your current extension version until then. |
| 2 | Update the database after updating. Open Admin Tools › Maintenance › Analyze Database Structure and apply the suggested changes. This adds the new record and image settings to backend users. |

Release highlights
Import from the Page module Open Import Google Docs from the Page module toolbar or the page tree context menu, and the Doc goes onto the page you are working on. No detour through a separate backend module. |
Choose the content type and column Import a Doc as header, text, text with images or image elements, into the page column you pick. Only columns that accept that content are offered. |
Filter Docs by owner Show Docs owned by me, not owned by me or owned by anyone, and search by name, so the right Doc is quick to find in a shared Google Drive. |
Default record and image settings Set once in Global Settings whether imported content starts hidden, plus image alignment, click-to-enlarge and the number of image columns. Every import applies them. |

Everything else in 14.0.0
New | • | Added search and pagination to Reports & Logs, so past imports are quick to find. | | • | Added a Site Set for Google Docs, so sites that use Site Sets render imported content without extra TypoScript. |
Improved | • | Reworked how Docs are imported: markers such as ###TEXT### or ###TEXTIMAGETOP### are no longer needed. Each Heading 1 or Heading 2 in your Doc now starts a new content element, and you choose its type (header, text, text with images or images) in the import dialog. | | • | Added support for TYPO3 12.4, 13.4 and 14, and for PHP 8.1 to 8.5. | | • | Replaced the bundled Google API client with the official Google API client library. | | • | Replaced Font Awesome with TYPO3 core icons, so the backend module no longer loads an external icon library. | | • | Import and Docs search now respect the editor's page permissions. |
